Welcome to Sea Chanty Farm
The story of Sea Chanty Farm begins with Paul ( now my husband) buying me (susan) 'Renee' a Friesian mare as an engagement ring.
He asked me what I wanted and I told him 'A Friesian'! ( Who says diamonds are a girl's best friend? )
Paul then himself became enamored with the breed and now does Driving & Showing.
We soon began a breeding program consisting of all premium star mares, with good papers, no foalbook (vuelen-boek) in lines. We breed to only qualified FPS Friesian Stallions.
75% of the mares keured for ster/ Star status do not relieve it, so I am happy have top quality horses.
Our mares have produced several Ster and 1st premie champion offspring, at the Kuerings that happen North America once a year in September at pre designated sites.
As our breeding program progressed, I noticed that the selection of stallion's a breeder could choose from was limited, mostly to US Stallions. Through personal contacts In the Netherlands I am Honored to Offer the US Friesian Breeder some of the top stallions In the Netherlands for their breeding consideration. Just received the prestigious Model Mare Status at her Kuering in Leesburg VA in 2007!
We could not be prouder. Godiva is sired by Tsjerk out of a mare we owned (a champion ster herself) named 'Raquel'.
